Red Chipped Toolbox

When the smallest of actions can reveal a cycle that looks so familiar;

  While photographing performances done in my family’s home, I’ve created self-portraits that detail the journey of finding my identity. By improperly using tools to tighten up loose ends within the family structure and highlighting my family’s gender enactments within the sport of Drag Racing, I've shown how my lifestyle has been impacted as a gay, twenty-four year old male. With an upbringing that has always felt so distant, these images have given me the ability to examine the disconnection within the family and put together the pieces that felt broken.

Days that felt so distant,

From one’s own resistant

A camera,

that soon turned into a memoir
